Join us for the Taize Healing & Peace Service Dear CHPC congregation: We hope you will join us Wednesday, August 19th at 7 pm for a “virtual” Taize Healing & Peace Service. This service will focus on the anxiety we are all facing due to the pandemic. As we grieve individually, as a local community, and as a nation, it is helpful to have a sacred space to express those sorrows. This service always includes an anointing of oil. It looks a bit different “virtually” as we are given the opportunity to participate in our own anointing. If you choose, please find a special bowl and pour in it some olive oil (or any cooking oil you have) to use during our time together. You may also want to have a candle close to you to light to help create your own sacred space. This is all optional – and if you don’t have any oil – you may use the oil present on your own thumb for your anointing. This will be a time of song, silence and prayer. Please join us! What Can We Do? Very often during times of crisis we wonder what, if anything, we can do. The Dean of Louisville Seminary, Debra J. Mumford has started a Padlet (electronic bulletin board with active links) that showcases actions we are each able to take to help realize social justice in the world https://padlet.com/dmumford2/6mlyz480kr9e1wrk. |
